Hello from Sunny California! I’m attending a Wedding in San Francisco, but I had to come out earlier to see my family in LA first! I feel lucky that I have awesome family here and can stay and work from here.
Here I am with my family hiking in LA. My niece was, of course, along for the hike!

When I do these “working vacations” (Stay in a different city while still working full time), I do a few things to keep me grounded when I’m in a new situation:
- Go grocery shopping
- Find a yoga studio ASAP
- Keep up some what of a routine (reading before bed, consistent bed time, etc)
I feel like I’m really getting the routine down! Not only do I feel better this way, but I am more focused and prepared to work, even though I am not in my typical (home) office.
1. Digestive Bitters by Herb Pharm
I ran out of my bitters recently and remembered how much I love them! Spray bitters on the tongue or in a drink before or after a meal for optimal digestion or as needed for any GI symptoms like gas, bloating, or heartburn.
To order: log in to or make a Fullscript account and search “better bitters by Herb Pharm”.
2. Slow Roasted Salmon with Fennel and Orange by Downshiftology
Fennel is currently in season and I love fennel in any form – raw or cooked! This recipe also adds orange for a bright pop of citrus! It’s easy enough to make on a weeknight, but would also impress guests at a dinner party!
3. Tea Strainer from Mountain Rose Herbs
I misplaced part of my tea strainer so I had to re-order this one again. I save so much money buying loose leaf tea in bulk and now tea bags feel so much more wasteful! This strainer is the perfect size and works for any mug.
*I also buy my loose leaf tea from Mountain Rose Herbs
