Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
Here are my yearly Thanksgiving reminders:
1. Eat breakfast!
Skipping breakfast to “make up for” a big meal will set you up for failure. When we skip meals our blood sugar crashes and we are starving! This leads to feeling out of control when eating.
Tamara’s Tip: Aim for 20-30g of protein at breakfast, even on Thanksgiving day! For example, a veggie omlette with chicken sausage and roasted poatoes or fruit is a great start to the day!
2. Meals do not need to be earned
No need for extra workouts, skipping meals, or extreme diets before or after the holidays. Enjoy the day and savor the yummy food!
3. Plan for personal food preferences while also enjoying the food
Be mindful of foods that you don’t tolerate while also enjoying your favorite foods!
Check out some of the things I’m stocking up on this Black Friday!
1. Air Filters from Air Doctor
Having an air purifier is a non-negotiable for me. I care a lot about what I “consume”- I make organic and whole foods a priority, I filter my water, and am even mindful of the content I consume. That extends to my air. If you think about it, we “consume” more air than food or water, so our air quality is likely to have a big impact on our health. I keep an air purifier in the rooms I spend the most time in – my bedroom and office. I only have to change the filters 1-2x/year and stock up on black Friday to save money.
2. Franklin and Whitman Oil Cleanser
This has been my go-to oil cleanser for years. I love that it’s non-toxic with natural ingredients, and compared to similar products, the price is way better! I will be stocking up on this again this year.
3. Clearly Filtered Water Filter
As I mentioned above, it is important to me to filter all my drinking water. I like to stock up on filters around Black Friday to last me several months. If you don’t have a water filter (or are still using a Brita) now is the time to invest in a filter. I like Clearly Filtered if you’re just getting started.
