It’s fall! I can just feel the holidays creeping around the corner…
Get grounded and prepared for the coming months with my 3 current favorites:
1. Supplement I’m Taking:
Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K
If you live in New England like me, you probably need to be on a Vitamin D supplement throughout the winter. I love the liquid because I can adjust the dose as needed. A common dose for those who don’t know their levels is 2 drops per day. For those who are currently deficient or have had previously low levels, 5 drops are recommended.
*Please check with your healthcare provider before starting a new supplement.
Tamara’s Tip: Vitamin D level is NOT part of standard labwork run by your PCP. You can ask your doctor to add this on. Ideal levels are 50-70 ng/mL
2. What I’m “Reading”:
Celebrations by Danielle Walker
If you are gluten-free or follow a paleo diet, this book is a MUST HAVE! Danielle Walker has the best cake, pie, and holiday recipes that accommodate most dietary restrictions. This cookbook has been a staple at my house for years.
3. Recipe I’m Making:
Green Lentil Salad
I love an easy salad that can be used in so many different ways! Whip up a big batch of this lentil salad and use it as a fiber-full side or as a crisp and flavorful addition to a salad bowl. In addition to lots of fiber, this salad also has vegetarian protein from the green lentils.
